Less reward is still more than no reward, which is what you would get if you just stopped staking, which was the whole point of my post. Less reward still isn't a reason to not do something.
The reason not to stake is because you risk the same (as you say, whether you lose or not is not affected by this glitch) but the reward is less (because some people will use the glitch). Better than just not staking and having no chance of winning at all. If your opponent doesn't know the glitch and you win, then you make some money. If you lose, you would have lost whether there was a glitch or not.
If this is the only glitch going on in the duel arena right now, why wouldn't you go stake? Like you said, you can end it in a draw and get your stuff back, so it's not like there is any bigger risk than normal.
